Bamine Charlie Boye

Bamine Charlie Boye has a wide range of experience from his many years working with and for children in Sierra Leone for the past 5 years.

Bamine has served as a leader of many programs and organizations all focusing on creating a better place for children.

In 2005 Bamine was elected by the Children of Sierra Leone as their President through the Children’s Forum Network and during his term in office he launched the first ever news paper written by children call PIKIN NEWS LETTER through the support of Unicef.

He was also part of the child reference group for the drafting of the Child Right Bill and also was a lead advocate for the enactment of the bill into an Act 

Bamine has worked with many national and international organizations to implement life changing and child protection programs. He has worked with Unicef, Plan, Save the Children UK, Care, GOAL-Sierra Leone, and Defense for Children-International Sierra Leone etc

Based on his relentless work in 2006 he was awarded by the children of Sierra Leone as the Child Advocate of 2006 and this award was presented to him by the Hon. Minister of Social Welfare Gender and Children’s Affairs. 

In 2007 Bamine served as his country Child Expert to the ECOWAS Secretariat in Abuja , Nigeria for the drafting of the ECOWAS Child Policy. In this same year he served as his Country Youth Representative to the 101 Young African Leaders Forum which they held their first meeting in Accra , Ghana in October 2007

Bamine graduated in 2008 with a Diploma in Development Studies majoring in Community Development from the Evangelical College of Theology-University of Sierra Leone.
